GOLDEN VALLEY – According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at approximately 12:25 a.m., Deputies responded to a fire at a residence in the 4800 block of N. Elgin Rd. in Golden Valley.
A total of 8 individuals (three adults and five children) were inside the residence when the fire began. Two female children, ages 4 and 11, were located deceased inside the residence after the fire was extinguished. Three adults, the mother, father, and a male roommate, and one child were transported to a Las Vegas hospital and are in critical condition. Another child was hospitalized for observation with no injuries, and the remaining child involved escaped the fire with no injuries.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Neighbors in the area reported hearing gunshots at the time of the fire, however it was determined to be items exploding inside the residence.
This investigation is ongoing.
