Unrelated Call Leads to the Arrest of a Littlefield Man

MOHAVE COUNTY – According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested Mario Uribe, 25 of Littlefield, for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon per Domestic Violence, Disorderly Conduct with a Weapon per Domestic Violence, Possession of a Weapon by a Prohibited Person, Narcotic Drug Possession, and Drug Paraphernalia Possession, all felonies.

On July 4, 2019, deputies responded to a residence in the 3600 block of S. Lake Mead Dr. in reference to a domestic violence situation in progress. The victims reported that a male subject, identified as Uribe, had been in a verbal altercation with one of the victims and drew a handgun, while making threats towards the victim.

The victims heard several gunshots from the front yard of the residence and thought he fired the gun into the ground. Deputies were unable to locate Uribe upon arrival at the residence, however located several shell casings in the front yard. 

On Saturday, August 3, 2019, around 6:30 p.m., deputies were in the area of the residence on an unrelated call, when they observed Uribe’s truck drive by. Deputies observed a male subject who they thought to be Uribe and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

The vehicle continued on, eventually turning into a residence in the 3800 block of Zion Park Rd. Uribe exited the vehicle and walked towards the residence, and deputies drew their service weapon and gave verbal commands for Uribe to stop. Uribe began yelling at deputies, when the homeowners exited the residence and began yelling for Uribe to follow deputy’s commands. Uribe then became complaint and was detained.

A search of Uribe revealed a baggie containing 3.5 grams of cocaine. Mario Uribe was arrested and booked into the Mesquite City Jail without further incident.
