MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County Search and Rescue recovered the body of a man near Cherum Peak Thursday afternoon.
According to the MCSO, a call was received a call for help Thursday, July 11, 2019 early in the afternoon. Two men had been prospecting in the area of Cherum Peak, when one of them collapsed.
Search and Rescue was activated and began a route and location search of their location. Classic Air Medical helicopter was launched and after locating them, they began their way on foot with medical equipment.
The area was very rugged and heavily tree-covered. Searchers on the ground located the men and at that time, it was determined that all life-saving efforts had been exhausted and a 74-year-old male was deceased.
DPS Ranger 1 helicopter from Phoenix was launched to recover the deceased and transfer him to the Medical Examiner.
