Kingman Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Firearm

According to police, on Saturday, July 6, 2019, around 11:00 p.m., Kingman Police arrested David Lyndon Grassie, 28 of Kingman, on felony charges of Aggravated Assault and Prohibited Possession of a Weapon. 

Officers responded to the 3400 block of N. Diamond St. about 10:50 p.m. Saturday night after receiving 911 reports of a shooting that just occurred. It was being reported that a vehicle fled the scene, leaving a man lying in the street.  Officers arrived to find a 42-year-old man lying in the street, alive but unresponsive.  Police said, they later determined that the man had not been shot, but possibly passed out after being shot at.

Officers located Grassie a short time later in a vehicle matching the description provided by witnesses.  Grassie, who admitted involvement in the offense and is prohibited from possessing a firearm, was booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility. 

According to police, Grassie had brandished a handgun and fired at the victim during an altercation in the street. 

The investigation is ongoing.
