KINGMAN – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Division of Boating Safety encountered many safe boaters this Independence Day Weekend, despite the large amount of traffic on our waterways. With the exception of the tragic drowning, there were no other injury or fatal boating crashes that were investigated by Mohave County Sheriff’s Office.

The Division of Boating Safety made many positive and educational contacts throughout the weekend. Overall, Division of Boating safety made 235 contacts, gave 146 boating violation warnings, issued 11 boating violation citations, investigated 1 non-injury boat crash, responded to 3 medical calls with our on board American Medical Response (AMR) Paramedics, assisted 22 boaters, and made two Operating Under The Influence Arrests. Many of the boating violation warnings were issued for non-safety related violations, and the boaters were educated on Arizona Law.
