KINGMAN — The Kingman Fire Department and The Original Chillin’ on Beale Street are teaming up to raise funds to restore the department’s 1922 fire apparatus.
The Kingman Fire Department first opened in September 1921 and later that year, they purchased their first fire apparatus, a brand new 1922 American LaFrance pumper. It is known in the community as the FROG. Initial restoration estimates are upwards of $25,000, so the department is looking for the community’s help.
The joint effort raffle prize will be a gas pump replica. Tickets are being sold at the Kingman Fire Administration, 412 E. Oak St. until 4 p.m. November 18. The tickets are $5 each, or five for $20.
