DOLAN SPRINGS – According to the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, on Sunday, July 7, 2019 around 7:30 p.m., deputies responded to Pierce Ferry Rd. milepost 1 in reference to a vehicle collision.
The reporting party advised that a vehicle left the roadway and rolled into a field. Upon arrival, it was determined that the vehicle’s sole occupant, identified as Edgar Avila-Perez, 42 of Dolan Springs, was deceased. The investigation determined the vehicle was travelling southwest on Pierce Ferry Rd when it entered a dip in the roadway.
Due to the vehicle’s speed, the vehicle lost control and left the roadway, travelling through a barbed wire fence and some bushes. There was a large dirt mound located in the bushes which caused the vehicle to become airborne and roll several times.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.
