MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (M.A.G.N.E.T.) seized over 47 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop, resulting in the arrest of four passengers who were taking an Uber from Barstow, CA to Kingman, AZ.
According to an official press release, M.A.G.N.E.T. participated in a multi-agency drug interdiction detail on the Interstate 40 on Thursday night. During the traffic stop, 47.6 pounds of marijuana was located in two large bags in the trunk of the Uber car. A hand gun was also located in the vehicle. The Uber driver did not know the marijuana was in his car and was not arrested.
Ramon Antonio Lara Payano, 29, Lino Derek Velez, 27, Edgardo Xavier Nunez, 30, and Roger Mauricio Franco Ramirez, 21, were all arrested trafficking in marijuana, marijuana for sale and misconduct involving weapons.
They were all booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman.
