LAKE HAVASU CITY — Mohave County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded May 26 to the area of Mesquite Bay in Lake Havasu for a report of a sinking boat.
Upon arrival, deputies determined that a 1990, 20-foot ultra boat, occupied by nine people, was traveling in the North Basin on Lake Havasu when it took several waves over the bow and began to swamp.
The operator maneuvered the watercraft to the Mesquite Bay fishing docks where all of the passengers were able to safely exit the watercraft.
The boat sank, and was later recovered by a local salvage company.
Weather was a factor in this incident.
Alcohol was not a factor.
