KINGMAN — A wrong-way vehicle was reported traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 about 9:06 a.m. May 24.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, there was a reported a head-on collision involving the wrong-way vehicle shortly after the call.
There were five fatalities as a result.
The wrong-way driver was reported to be Harold Wayne Wickham, 82, of Laughlin, Nevada. He was driving a 2010 Nissan sedan and died after being transported to a nearby hospital. Wickham was travelling with Ella Wickham, 90, of Laughlin Nevada. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
According to DPS, another vehicle involved in the accident was a black 2015 Honda sedan. The driver was Tsun Tong Chan, 57, of New York. Two passengers were Wai Kam Ngai, 54, of New York, and Ching Kwong Chan, 21, of New York. All three occupants were pronounced dead on the scene.
This crash is still under investigation and details will be released as they become available.
