PARKS, AZ — This morning at 8:43 a.m. DPS responded to an eight-vehicle minor injury collision in the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 near Parks, Arizona.
A tour bus became wedged between two semi trucks. There were no injuries to the occupants of the tour bus, but two drivers from other passenger cars suffered minor injuries.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety believes icy roads, slick conditions and speeding were factors in this crash.
AZDPS has re-opened the emergency lane and hopes to open the second lane soon.
Traffic is squeezing by, but there is a sizable backup. They do not anticipate a full reopening of the first lane until sometime around 2 p.m.
Drivers are encouraged to stay clear of the area, as heavy duty tow trucks arrive on scene for the disabled semi trucks.
