KINGMAN — Sometimes the weather gets in the way of things.
Lee Williams High School’s graduation ceremony is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. May 22 at the Lee Williams football field, 400 Grandview Ave.
Roger Jacks, the superintendent of the Kingman Unified School District, said the graduation will take place at the scheduled time, but they will have an inclement weather plan in place.
“We will have an inclement weather plain, moving the ceremony inside or delaying the start-time if necessary,” said Jacks. “Families will be notified if the plan is required.”
According to the Weather Channel, the high today will be about 58 degrees. The temperature during the graduation will be about 52 degrees, with a 50 percent chance of rain.
According to Jacks, the inclement weather plan is to hold the graduation inside using the main gym and the auditorium.
“Unfortunately, if we go inside the seating is limited,” said Jacks.
“Our entire graduation planning process is with safety of students, parents, staff and guests as our number one priority. At this point we are still planning an outdoor graduation.”
The final decision will be made about 4:30 p.m. today.
