LAKE HAVASU CITY — A physical altercation resulted in the arrest of a Lake Havasu City woman.

Lake Havasu City Police Officers were dispatched about 9:30 a.m. May 16 to an apartment complex in the 1200 block of Anacapa Drive for a report of a subject with a weapon and a stabbing that had occurred.

Officers arrived on scene and discovered that 39-year-old Lake Havasu City resident Nancy G. Canchola was reportedly in a verbal and physical altercation with her 29-year-old unidentified female roommate.

Police said a 51-year-old male relative of the roommate arrived at the apartment complex during the physical altercation and attempted to intervene. Canchola allegedly held the female victim at knife point against her will. Police said Canchola then fought with the relative and suffered non-life threatening injuries as the relative attempted to get the knife away from her.

Canchola was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault per domestic violence, kidnapping per domestic violence and criminal damage per domestic violence.

A stabbing did not occur. However, Canchola did suffer minor injuries and was cut by the knife during the struggle.

Canchola was booked into the Lake Havasu City jail pending her initial appearance.
