LITTLEFIELD — A routine traffic stop led to a drug-related arrest of a Littlefield man.
Mohave County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Stewart Scott Jones, 45, of Littlefield, for dangerous drug possession, drug paraphernalia possession and possession of a weapon by prohibited person, all felonies.
Deputies noticed a vehicle make an improper turn into a private property on Highway 91 about 10:40 a.m. May 3. MCSO said deputies stopped the driver and identified him as Jones. They reportedly noticed he displayed several nervous indicators. Deputies completed a warning for the traffic violation and asked Jones for consent to search the vehicle, to which he complied.
During the vehicle search, deputies allegedly located about two grams of methamphetamine, six syringes and a .44 special revolver. MCSO said the records check revealed that Jones was prohibited to be in possession of a weapon.
Jones was arrested and booked into the Mesquite City Jail without incident.
