BULLHEAD CITY — Giddy-up bicyclists.
The 24th Annual Carrie Edgmon Bicycle Safety Rodeo will take place from 9 a.m. to noon May 11 in the south parking lot at WalMart, 2840 Highway 95. The free event is sponsored by the Bullhead City Police Department, the Bullhead City Fire Department, WalMart and the Western Arizona Regional Medical Center (WARMC).
Children can receive free bicycle registration, tune-ups and inspections if they bring their own bikes. The inspections and tune-ups will be performed by the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). Bicycle parts for the tune ups are provided by the Morning Kiwanis Club. Children will then put their safety skills and knowledge to the test as they ride through several safety courses.
Police officers will be on hand to teach youngsters the rules of the road. The first 125 children will also receive a free helmet, courtesy of WARMC. Participants can enter a prize drawing to win a new bike. The Bike Safety Rodeo is open to the public.
