30 Fallen Troopers to be Honored During Annual Ceremony on May 6, in Phoenix

Phoenix — The public is invited to attend the 2019 Trooper Memorial Ceremony at 9 a.m. May 6 at the Arizona Department of Public Safety (AZDPS) headquarters, 2102 West Encanto Boulevard in Phoenix.

The event is hosted by the Arizona State Troopers Association, and it pays tribute to the 30 AZDPS law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty since 1958. A plaque honoring Trooper Tyler Edenhofer on the memorial wall will be dedicated during the ceremony.

Governor Doug Ducey and DPS Director Frank Milstead will be speaking at the ceremony.

Of the 30 deaths, eight were the result of murder, 17 were traffic related, two died in a helicopter crash, one died in a helicopter accident, and one killed when a train exploded.
