KINGMAN — A Kingman woman was allegedly seen making fraudulent merchandise returns at a store in the 3300 block of Stockton Hill Road.

Kingman Police Department officers arrested Amber Elizabeth Fortner, 33, of Kingman, about 12:45 p.m. April 29 on a felony charge of organized retail theft, two misdemeanor warrants for failure to pay fines, contempt of court and a criminal warrant for theft.

Fortner was arrested at a store in the 3300 block of Stockton Hill Road when store security noticed her making a fraudulent merchandise return and later attempting to purchase the items with the refund.

Police said they learned Fortner also had three warrants for her arrest — one was a criminal warrant for a 2017 theft offense and two court issued warrants for other unrelated crimes.

Fortner was arrested and booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility.
