FORT MOHAVE — A Montana man was apprehended for allegedly driving a stolen vehicle.
Mohave County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Steven Jacob Kruckeberg, 33, of Helena, MT, for felony unlawful use of means of transportation.
At 4:55 a.m. April 28, deputies observed a white pickup truck driving in the area of Highway 95 and Teller Road. A records check revealed the truck to be reported stolen out of Kingman. Deputies conducted a high-risk traffic stop in the 4400 block of Highway 95 and ordered Kruckeberg out of the vehicle. He complied and was detained.
Deputies searched the truck and found a bag with assorted tools. They also discovered the cut-off fingertips of gloves. The perforated ends had been wrapped with electrical tape, said MCSO, as if to conceal a person’s fingertips. When asked, Kruckeberg claimed he had borrowed the vehicle from a friend and did not know it was stolen, said deputies.
Kruckeberg was arrested and transported to the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility without incident.
