KINGMAN — An alleged suspect from a store robbery on April 21 has been apprehended.
Kingman Police Department officers arrested Ira Logan Fossum, 34, of Kingman, at 2 p.m. April 23 on a felony charge of robbery and two misdemeanor warrants.
Police said Fossum was a suspect in an April 21 robbery at a store in the 500 block of W. Beale Street. Fossum reportedly attempted to steal several packs of cigarettes. Police said the store clerk attempted to stop Fossum and he forcibly pushed the clerk down before leaving the store in a vehicle.
KPD said officers noticed Fossum in the passenger’s side of a vehicle in the 2300 block of Fairgrounds Boulevard about 2:55 p.m. Officers stopped the vehicle and Fossum was taken into custody without incident. The clerk was not seriously injured and was treated and released at the scene.
Fossum, who allegedly admitted involvement in the offense, was arrested and booked into the Mohave County Adult Detention Facility. KPD said he had two misdemeanor warrants for his arrest on other unrelated charges.
Note: Using force or threatened use of force during a theft turns the offense into a robbery.
