KINGMAN – Time to lace up the running shoes. Local law enforcement agencies are coming together to provide a day of fun, games, prizes and exercise.
The Kingman Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics will raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics Arizona from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday at Centennial Park, 3333 Harrison Street.
Some of the agencies attending include Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, GEO Group at Arizona State Prison in Kingman, Arizona Department of Public Safety and Kingman Police Department.
Participants are required to register for the 1K walk and 5K run. The raffle prizes are donated by the GEO Group and other local businesses. There will be food, games, K-9 demonstrations, and lots of opportunities to mingle with local law enforcement.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is a series of intra-state/intra-nation runs that take place around the world. Throughout the course of the Torch Run, participants collect contributions from individuals and businesses to raise funds for Special Olympics athletes.
All of the proceeds are donated directly to support the Special Olympics programs and athletes in Arizona.
