KINGMAN — Want to become a volunteer?
Check out the Community Volunteer Fair, from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the Kingman Public Library, 3269 N. Burbank St.
Some of the 10 volunteer opportunities include Kingman Center for the Arts, Kingman Railroad Museum, Western Arizona Council of Governments (WACOG), Mohave County Public Library, NAU Senior Corps, Jerry Ambrose Veteran’s Council and Living Waters Hospice.
The event is sponsored by the Northern Arizona University Senior Corps.
Heather Brassil, program coordinator for NAU Senior Corps said the event will draw attention to smaller organizations that are often overlooked. While many are aware of larger volunteer opportunities, such as Kingman Regional Medical Center, they don’t know where to turn for others.
“We noticed how the community is very giving but they don’t know where to start,” said Brassil. “We partner with all of these organizations, so we put together this event to see how it turns out. If we get a lot of support, we will look for a larger venue and add more dates later.
Refreshments will be provided by Living Waters Hospice.
