GOLDEN VALLEY — A vehicle collision in Golden Valley resulted in the death of a 16-year-old boy.
Mohave County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a vehicle collision about 5:50 p.m., April 3, in the area of Egar Road and Zuni Drive.
According to MCSO, an ATV was travelling on Egar Road behind a semi-truck when the ATV crossed over into the left late to avoid dust. The ATV collided with a motorized bicycle in the oncoming lane. The driver of the ATV was identified as Marc Heywood, 16, of Golden Valley, who was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the motorized bicycle received serious injuries and was transported to a hospital in Las Vegas.
MCSO reported that neither operator was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision and that impairment is believed to be a factor.
This investigation is ongoing.
