KINGMAN – Sun, snow, rain or wind, the Kingman Disc Golf Club will be out and about.
The club has a local tournament Sunday morning at Firefighter’s Memorial Park (one of the most well-maintained disc golf courses in the county).
KDGC member Ben Wolfe was at the park to practice through a few holes, some of which they had to shoot through broken tree limbs still waiting to be collected by city cleanup crews.
He brought his girlfriend and two daughters to get them involved in the game.
“I’m just showing them how to play,” he said. “It gets the kids outside and keeps everyone busy.”
KDGC President Jason Noonan leads the organization and course building efforts. Sunday’s event will be one of 12 monthly bag-tags where the disc golfers play 36 holes (2 rounds of 18) for cash and prizes.
There’s a $15 entry fee for players ($5 discount for KDGC members). Sign-up start at 8:30 a.m. with tee off at 9 a.m. There will be a short lunch break followed by the second 18-hole tournament.
Noonan’s disc golf company, Mohave Disc Golf Supply, supports all Kingman events and gives players a choice in picking discs for their prizes
